Introduction

The Department of Biochemistry at PGICH was set up when the Institute was established as a centre of national importance for Paediatric teaching, research and patient care in 2015. Currently Department of Biochemistry, PGICH is providing state of the art laboratory testing facilities 24hrs for all routine biochemistry, specialised immunoassays including thyroid profile, reproductive profile,cardiac profile, Covid Profile including CRP, DDimer, PCT, IL6, covid Antibodies (both natural and vaccine related immunity), immunoglobulins, complete iron profiling, therapeutic drug monitoring, diabetic profile including HbA1c and specialised tests including Anti TTG.

Any New Services / Facilities Introduced:

  • Started New Born screening Programme in department which is first of its kind in entire western U.P.
  • Started MD Biochemistry programme with annual intake of 3 students recognised by NMC. First batch started in the year 2025-26 with 3 MD students.
  • Conducted more than 3,40,000 tests in 2025-26.
